When: 1st and 3rd TuesdaysIn June, we are beginning our regularly scheduled plein aire outings. Our first outing will be at Brown Park, 9am-12noon.
Middletown Library Painting Exchange
When: September 2, 2008The next painting exchange for the KWS collection at the Middletown Library will be September 2, 2008. The Library is located on Juneau Drive and usually has 15-20 paintings from several area artists. I currently have "Main Street-Louisville Galt House" on display.
KWS Summer Show 2008
When: June 1- August 10, 2008This show is held at The Gallery in The Kentucky Center for the Arts at 501 West Main Street. It is a juried competition by the Kentucky Watercolor Society and artwork is sold to the public through The Kentucky Center.
All Member Show
When: June 27-July 25, 2008The All Member Show is an annual event. This year it is being held at the Mellwood Lobby Gallery in the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center at 1860 Mellwood Avenue. Many paintings are available for purchase through the Mellwood Gallery.
Aqueous 2008
When: October 1, 2008Okay, so we are now up and going for Aqueous 2008! The prospectus' went out this week to artists around the country, so I'm sure we'll get a lot of participation as we have in the past. The deadline for art entries is June 23th and the juror (international artist, Lian Zhen) will make initial selections by July 30th. Award winners will be selected in September and the show opens to the public October 1, 2008. As usual, it is hosted by Actors Theatre of Louisville (316 West Main Street) and runs until November 8th. If anyone has an interest in being a sponsor for a Purchase Award, please let me know. This enables you to purchase a painting at 20% less than the artist's asking price and is also tax deductible. This year I am the Awards Chairperson for the Aqueous show.
